For a Versioned study: When existing forms from a previous version get copied to a new version, if they are left unchanged, edit checks do not have to be re-run. This is due to the fact that when a new version is created, the edit checks conducted in the previous version get carried over to the new version. However, if any forms are added to the new version, they should be validated and have edit checks run prior to use by Provider Sites. In other words, they should be created and tested using the Re-Run Edit Checks link while “In [the] Development” version in an Administrative Site to eliminate any possible errors that may exist in the amended form (conditional actions, error messages, etc.).
In addition, if existing forms from a previous version are changed in any way for the new version, the edit checks should be re-run using the Re-Run Edit Checks link located in the Right Column below the Sign In Status box on the Form Builder page. To Re-Run Edit Checks for forms in a new version (In-Development) an Administrative Site must be selected to the version and at least one Subject must have been migrated to the new version. In addition, any new forms should be auto-validated while “In [the] Development” version using the Auto-Validate Subject CRF link located in the Right Column of the Form Builder page.
For additional information about using the Auto-Validate Subject CRF link, please see the Form Builder – Auto Validate Subject CRF help document.
For NON VERSIONED Studies: To Re-Run Edit Checks for a new or amended form, simply select the desired form to have edit checks be re-run. The selected form will populate the Form Builder body/grid. The system knows which version of a form has Site(s) selected to it and Subject(s) migrated to it. Click the Re-Run Edit Checks link located in the Re-Run Edit Checks box in the Right Column as shown in the following figure.
When the link is selected the Run Targeting Validations page is displayed as shown in the figure below.
Complete the information on the Run Targeted Validations page according to the directions contained in the Directions box in the Right Column. A completed form is shown in the following figure.
Selecting the Run Re-Validation button will begin the re-validation process. The Re-validation Results progress bar will be displayed. When the validation is complete, the “Re-validation Complete!” message will appear above the progress bar as shown in the following figure.
Select the Return to Form Builder link to return to the Form Builder page.
To view the new version of the selected form with the edit checks completed, the Subject Manager application must be used. The Subject Manager page is accessed from the Subject menu using the Subject Manager… link as shown in the figure below.
When the link is selected, the Subject Manager page is displayed as shown in the figure below.
The desired subject can be selected from the Subject column using the Subject ID link. Notice that Subject 2-0002 is on Version 1.0 while Subject 2-0003 is on version 1.1. Therefore, to view the amended form, Subject 2-0003 will be selected. When the link for Subject 2-0003 is clicked, the Subject View page is displayed as shown in the figure below.
When the icon for the form is selected from the Scheduled Visit/Event Forms data table, the new version (as amended for Version 1.1) of the form appears as shown in the figure below.
Notice, the form (contained in Version 1.1) does not contain the section for Liver Function Testing.
The form used for Subject 2-0002 is the form from the Initial Version (1.0) as shown in the following figure. The form does contain the section for Liver Function Testing.
